Navigation and Landing Indicator

MFD (Multi-Function Displays) are used in aircraft cockpit to assist the pilot. This MFD has been designed to assist the pilot during navigation and landing exercises. Running on Power PC and MQX RTOS this unit can be controlled using the front bezel key functions.

The MFD called as NLI (Navigation and Landing Indicator) senses the aircraft using a 16 channel ARINC bus. The sensors indicate parameters like magnetic heading, automatic direction finder, VHF omni-directional range, and distance measured. NLI operates in two modes one for navigation assistance in air and the other for landing assistance. The unit integrates into the cockpit of the aircraft and seamlessly integrates into the ARINC bus of the aircraft.

WHY "NAVIGATION AND LANDING INDICATOR"

  • NLI is mission critical part of the pilot cockpit
  • NLI provides a comprehensive view of the flight position to the pilot
  • NLI guides pilots real time to navigate or land based on the pitch, yaw, roll and distance from ground

PRODUCT IN ACTION

Navigation and Landing assistanceNLI is a critical part of the pilot’s cockpit that assists the pilot during navigation and landing. The frontend is a rugged display system while the back end is interface to various sensors on the aircraft.

The systems reads aircraft position parameters like ADF, VOR, MH, DME that provide estimates of the yaw, pitch, roll and distance from ground. These sensors are interfaced on standard bus like ARINC. NLI reads the sensor inputs processes it and displays data on a standard display format for pilot’s immediate comprehension.

User interface over Bezel keys allow the pilot to navigate into multiple modes for comprehensive view of the position of the flight.

  • Engine and power train vibration isolation

    Aircraft Sensing

NLI comprehensively senses inputs regarding the position of the aircraft through a rugged ARINC interface. This supports the pilot in effective and safe navigation and landing exercise.

  • Wings and rotor vibration control

    Rugged Display

The rugged display systems are made to withstand the shock, vibrations and environmental stress of military aircrafts. Special active matrix LCDs that operate at extended temperatures are integrated into the system to provide reliable display.

  • Improve quality of manufacturing

    Real-time response

MQX RTOS running on the processing core manages the sensor inputs and displays to provide the real time response and update required for navigation and landing exercise.

  • Stabilize marine vehicles

    Display modes

The systems operates in the various standard display mode like ADF, VOR, DME, ILS etc that a pilot is used to during aircraft maneuvering. On screen display is configured to standard display formats for immediate comprehension.
